The eight generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G50 (sedan version) and BMW G51 (wagon version, marketed as ‘Touring) compact executive cars. It is to be unveiled and launched in 2026, with the next-generation M3 set to launch the year after. It is the first 3 Series to be offered with both petrol and electric powertrains, with the petrol and EV versions being built on separate platforms. The G50 3 Series makes use of BMW’s Vision Neue Klasse design language, with the kidney grills being slimmer than previous generations and a more minimalist and futuristic design adopted, marking a radical design departure. The G50 3 Series will be the first 3 Series to not be offered with a Manual transmission. Instead, it will be exclusively offered with an Automatic transmission.
